Use the DelDOT Interactive Map for live traffic flow, travel times, cameras, advisories, weather and roadway-project layers. For safety analysis, distinguish crashes from fatalities, and distinguish preliminary dashboard counts from final annual reports. The snapshot below is a dated count, not a forecast or a final annual total.
What to keep in view
- Live traffic and incidents belong on DelDOT’s travel map
- Project schedules should be checked against current notices
- Crash totals need a defined period, geography and severity measure
Fatalities are not the same as crashes
DelDOT’s dashboard showed 84 fatalities in 2026 year-to-date and 87 in the comparable 2025 year-to-date column as of November 6, 2026. The dashboard says these figures are unofficial and subject to change as crash investigations are completed. A fatality count is a count of people killed, not the number of crashes.
We distinguish a source’s reported observation from our interpretation. Where an update is preliminary, approximate or not comparable across geographies, we say so. This page is an explanatory guide, not an official government notice or professional advice.
